Merry Monday 157:

Good morning all!  Here we are in May already, almost time to start planting trees and building a fence.  Can't wait to have our own yard soon!!!

This week at Merry Monday, Bonnie has chosen the theme of wet or dry EMBOSSING on your Christmas card:

Welcome back Katie - can't wait to see your fabbie creations again!!

I chose to do some heat embossing starting with Avery Elle's Joy To The World heated with Stampendous! Opaque White embossing powder.  I used some Doodlebug Santa Express paper scraps with Reverse Confetti's Class Act Confetti Cuts;  added some stitching and MME Red and Freckled Fawn enamel dots.

Merry Monday 165:

Good morning all!  What a weekend, we had 1/2 foot of snow hit us in less than 24 hours.  We went from sandals and shorts to winter boots and mitts.  Crazy Spring weather =)  It will all be gone soon as nice weather is back in the forcast.

This week at Merry Monday, Wendy has chosen the theme of using pinecones, greens and "believe" on your Christmas card:

With this challenge being very traditional, I tried to make a CAS version that was non-traditional in style too.  I thought I would challenge myself =)  In the end, I am quite happy how my CAS card turned out.

I started by adding some texture with Tim Holtz Woodgrain stencil with Bo Bunny Gold glitter paste.  Next I embossed Paper Smooches Joyful Greeting sentiment in Stampendous! Gold embossing powder.  I stamped the Avery Elle Winter Wreath's pinecones in Memento Rich Cocoa and the greens in Memento Cottage Ivy.  I finished it all off with a Reverse Confetti Tag Me banner and a Teresa Collins sequin.

Controlled Chaos Thanks:

Hi all!  I hope your weekend has been warm and sunny!  We have had a icky Spring storm that brought in A LOT of snow.

This was in less than 24 hours - wet and heavy snow - yuck!!!

I am trying to think of a positive thing about all that snow, but nothing comes to mind :S

Oh wait, that means that I had lots of time in my craftroom - that's positive right???

I almost threw out the card below but was happy that I saw some potential in it.  I accidentally smeared the black splotches when I was doing the paste, but was able to cover up the "oopsies" - so all was well!!

I started with sponging Hero Arts Pastel Green with My Favorite Things Small Checkerboard stencil.  I then used some cheapy Michaels watercolours and "splotched" with a paintbrush.  Next I wanted to add some texture with My Favorite Things Diagonal Stripes and Ranger Texture paste.  I added a Paper Smooches Thanks Wise Die with some black foam that I got at my local dollar store (score!) and felt it needed just a bit more, so I also added an Altenew Label Love stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  Lastly I added a couple Doodlebug Beetle Black enamel dots.

I created this card for the following challenges:

(use white and one other colour)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Cheers to you all!!

Fusion {Vintage Floral}:

Happy Thursday all!  I hope you have been enjoying your week so far!  It's been another crazy week, we are packing, moving and doing renovations at my work.  Between that and everything else, I am looking forward to the weekend =)

On a super fantastic positive note, Lesley from Fusion asked me if I would like to join their team.  Of course I said yes, I'd be crazy not too =)

PROCEDURES:
1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along
.

So I chose to do both - I LOVE sketches, for real, they are my favourite kind of challenges =)

I started with paper from MME's Honey collection and layered it up with Reverse Confetti's Class Act and Circle 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts.  The sentiment, RC's Love Blooms, is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black  I finished it all off with American Crafts twine and Studio Calico clothespin.  Lastly I sprinkled a few Doodlebug Beetle Black Sprinkles and Freckled Fawn enamel dots.

Don't forget you can check out the rest of the team's creations.  Just click on their names below:

Enjoy your Thursday!  And thanks for the visit - cheers!!

Merry Monday 155:

Good morning all!  Happy Monday to you!  Where has the time flown?  Technically we can see it's May next week - MAY!!!?!?!?  How crazy is that??

This week at Merry Monday, Sue has chosen the theme of using a puppy and/or kitty on your Christmas card:

I couldn't find anything in my stash with a kitty or puppy.  I finally found some kitties on Etsy and this little guy COMPLETELY CRACKED ME UP!!!  And just like me, I like my cards to be quirky too!!  He came in a set and I can't wait to use the others too!

I then added Reverse Confetti's Big Chevron Pretty Panel Confetti Cut. I turned the Tag Me banner into a tag by cutting off one end and adding a hole (from Tag Me as well).

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Christmas Sampler stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  And lastly I added stitching, American Crafts twine, and MME Red and Doodlebug Beetle Black enamel dots.

Nom Nom Thanks:

Hello all!  I finally have a night where I am feeling pretty "with it" so of course I went directly into my craftroom.

I whipped up this simple enough card, but it still seemed to take me longer than usually.  Oh well - I feel so much better creating - it doesn't matter how long it takes =)

I STILL have Spring fever and am itching for nice weather - which again, inspired my card tonight.

I started with Reverse Confetti's Let's Chill and Tag Me Confetti Cuts. The delicious paper is from Bo Bunny's Lemonade Stand collection.  The sentiment is pieced together from RC's Sweet Thing and Petals 'n Posies (stamped in Versafine Onyx Black).  I finished it all off with American Crafts twine and some stitching.

I created this card for the following challenges:

That's it for me this evening - enjoy the rest of your week and a million thanks for coming to visit my blog =)

Merry Monday 154:

Hi all!  Happy Monday to you! I am so sorry that I have been rather MIA.  I have been battling a lot of vertigo and sickness and have good days and not so good days.  I am scheduled for an urgent meck MRI and really, really hope they find the cause of my vertigo.  I wouldn't wish this feeling upon my worst enemy.  Good thing I am a "Positive Patty" as that is what gets me through life.  That and smiling.  I love to smile =)

This week at Merry Monday, Nina has chosen the theme of creating a VINTAGE STYLE Christmas card:

I also love vintage and since it's been forever and day since I last crafted up a vintage card, I was super-duper excited for this challenge.

I used this beautiful Santa image that's been in my stash that I found on Pinterest (unfortunately it wasn't linked).  I tore, distressed the edges, and inked with Hero Arts Gold and Brown Bark inks.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Peace on Earth set stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  I finished it all off with Wild Orchard mulberry paper flowers and gold crown pins.

Merry Monday 153:

Hi all!  Happy Monday to you!

This week at Merry Monday, Lori has chosen the theme of using an ANGEL or CHERUB on your Christmas card:

I searched high and low for an angel in my Christmas stash and just couldn't find one, so I stretched it a bit and used a fairy =)

My card is pretty simple.  I coloured C.C. Designs Swiss Pixie Abigail in Prismacolor Premier pencils and blended with Speedball Mona Lisa Odorless Paint Thinner (100% mineral spirits).  The sentiment is part from Paper Smooches Joyful Greetings and Kaisercraft Christmas Sentiments stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

RC Hey Sweetie:

Hi all!!  I've said it before and I will say it again:  where did the week go???  It's hard to believe Easter weekend is almost over!

I was finally able to pop into the craftroom today and I went straight to a Spring/Summery type card as I am SO VERY itching for some beautiful Spring weather.  Come on Spring - no more snow please!!!

I started with Reverse Confetti's Let's ChillDouble Edge Scallop Border, Office Edges, Tag Me Confetti Cuts.  The sentiment is also from RC's Let's Chill stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. All the bright fun paper is from Bo Bunny's Lemonade Stand (so Summery!).  I added some Freckled Fawn enamel dots, stitching, American Crafts twine, and Studio Calico clothespin.

I created this card for the following challenges:

That's it for me today - enjoy your Sunday.  Happy Easter to you all!!!

Hi all!  Happy Monday to you!  Another week has gone by and we almost are in April!!  Spring weather is starting to visit and I couldn't be happier =)

Now if you know me, I would be all over such a challenge.  And I was (and I am!).  LOVE me some non-traditional Christmas colours.

I started with My Favorite Things Herringbone Brick stencil sponged with Simon Says Stamp Audrey Blue ink.  I used Reverse Confetti's Tag Me and Circle 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts with Paper Smooches Christmas Words 2 wise die.  I finished it all off with some Celebrate It ribbon and Studio Calico Green and MME Teal enamel dots.

It's The Challenge's One Year Anniversary celebration and Sugar Pea Designs is sponsoring this Anything Goes challenge.  Unfortunately I don't own any Sugar Pea goodies, but now I must go buy some - absolute adorableness!!!!!!

Dressed for Success:

Happy Wednesday Thursday all!  Between being sick and being busy, I just haven't been "around" much - please forgive me!!!!  (Oh dear me, it's not Wednesday - see - told you I'm all mixed up!)

Tonight I made time to craft - so that always makes me feel better =)

I used *my* dress pattern (a couple of years ago I drew a dress on heavy cardstock and kept it for a pattern) with Bo Bunny's Lemonade Stand paper and matched it up with Lily Bee Sweet Shoppe paper.  The die is from Avery Elle's Simply Said: Happy Elle-ments with a So Happy sentiment stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  I finished it all off with American Crafts twine and Lawn Fawn sequins.

A detail shot of my pretty little dress:

I created this card for the following challenges:

Freshly Made Sketches

Well that is it for me!  My plan this weekend is crafting, crafting, and MORE crafting.  It's good for the heart, soul, and spirit =)  Thanks for the visit and cheers to you all!
